Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services is seeking a Field Service Technician I for the Northeast USA (Remote/Field Based). You’ll support installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and commissioning of reciprocating engines and compressors at customer sites, traveling up to ~80% and collaborating with experienced field professionals.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with interest in engines and compressors.
• Foundational mechanical skills and ability to use basic hand tools safely.
• Able to read manuals and follow detailed instructions.
• Willing to travel approximately 80% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and commissioning of reciprocating engines and compressors at customer sites.
• Assist experienced technicians with preventive maintenance, minor repairs, equipment rebuilds, and overhaul activities.
• Develop proficiency in the safe use of basic hand tools, torque wrenches, and related field equipment.
• Learn to use OEM manuals to identify parts, procedures, tolerances, and specifications.
• Perform basic measurements and record inspection data in required documentation.
• Monitor equipment condition, communicate observations, and assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
