Job summary

RMS Energy is seeking a Lead Field Service Technician to oversee field crews across the U.S. This hands-on leadership role focuses on testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting electrical systems in power plants, substations, and industrial facilities. Travel ~75% is required.

You will mentor junior technicians, ensure strict safety protocols, and deliver clear client communications while maintaining accurate documentation and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Extensive field experience in power plant, utility, or industrial power systems.
• NETA Level III/IV or journeyman credentials preferred.
• Expert knowledge of protection & control systems and high‑voltage commissioning.
• Strong documentation skills using PowerDB and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and maintenance on LV to HV systems; supervise field crews.
• Develop and execute testing/commissioning plans; ensure safety & quality.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate with clients on project requirements.
• Maintain test reports, service records, and commissioning documentation.
• Direct emergency responses, start-ups, and on-site troubleshooting.
