Job summary

RMS Energy Co, LLC is seeking a Lead Field Service Technician to head field operations across the U.S. You will manage field crews, execute testing plans, and troubleshoot complex power plant and substation issues while ensuring safety and quality in the field.

The role requires extensive experience with protection & control, relay testing, and high-voltage commissioning, along with strong leadership and documentation skills. Travel and demanding environments are expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive field experience in power plants, substations, or industrial facilities.
• Nedta/NETA credentials preferred or equivalent.
• Ability to lead field crews and mentor technicians.
• Proficient with protection & control systems and high-voltage commissioning.
• Strong documentation skills with PowerDB and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and maintenance on LV to HV systems (480V-600kV).
• Oversee test plan execution and commissioning procedures for new systems and upgrades.
• Supervise onsite field crews and mentor junior technicians.
• Ensure safety, LOTO, PPE, and compliance with project specs.
