Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Level 5 Switchgear Field Engineer to lead complex field service activities for MV/HV switchgear installations, commissioning, maintenance, diagnostics, and modernization.

The role requires on-site leadership, strict safety adherence, and collaboration with customers and project teams. You will mentor junior engineers/technicians, drive quality and schedule adherence, and coordinate with PMs, engineering, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electromechanical Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience leading field crews on MV/HV switchgear installations and service.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E/OSHA safety practices and LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead field execution for switchgear installation, commissioning, and service across various switchgear types.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and protection/control issues.
• Execute and/or direct acceptance, maintenance, and testing with documented results.
• Perform protection relay commissioning and verify settings against approved files.
• Interpret and redline electrical drawings, schematics, and one-lines to verify as-built conditions.
• Ensure on-site safety compliance and lead safety briefings.
