Job summary

Omega Medical Imaging LLC is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to travel and lead complex installations, perform expert‑level diagnostics and repairs, and advise our healthcare partners.

The position is based in Atlanta, GA and requires substantial field work with training at the Sanford, FL headquarters and periodic travel for training and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of field service experience with X-ray or high‑level electromechanical systems.
  • Direct imaging systems installations and service experience.
  • Strong ability to read and translate complex schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair Omega systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex service issues and minimize return visits.
  • Provide expert diagnostics and training to customers on system operations.
  • Document service activities and manage field service reports.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Support to improve products.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to travel and lead complex installations, perform expert‑level diagnostics and repairs, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to our healthcare partners.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA and requires significant time in the field supporting customer sites, with travel expectations subject to business needs. Initial training is expected to take place at Omega Medical Imaging headquarters in Sanford, FL. There will also be anticipated quarterly travel to headquarters for training on legacy and future products and participation in process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Support & Technical Service
    • Travel consistently to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair Omega systems, including electronic, mechanical, and software components
    • Troubleshoot complex service issues while mitigating unnecessary return visits
    • Ensure timely return of critical equipment for processing
  • Technical Expertise & Product Mastery
    • Master the fundamentals of X-ray technology and associated imaging equipment
    • Stay current on enhancements, legacy products, and future product developments through continuous learning and training
    • Read, interpret, and translate a wide variety of schematics with precision
  • Process Improvement and Knowledge Sharing
    • Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Technical Support teams to drive product improvements and identify new opportunities
    • Provide immediate feedback on customer quality issues to improve service and product reliability
    • Assist in the development and refinement of service procedures and best practices
  • Customer Relationships and Communication
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by resolving technical issues and training them on system operations
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring service excellence and reliability in high‑pressure environments
    • Provide consistent communication with the Director of Field Service and service team members
  • Operational and Administrative Duties
    • Complete field service and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
    • Maintain the calibration and organization of service tools
    • Support departmental financial goals by maximizing scheduling efficiency and minimizing unnecessary costs
    • Respond to after‑hours customer requests in emergency situations as needed
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of field service experience required, particularly with X‑ray or high‑level electromechanical systems
  • Direct experience with imaging systems and installations
  • Associate degree, military technical training, or equivalent relevant experience in electronics, medical devices, mechanical systems, or a related discipline
  • Expertise in wire crimping, soldering, voltage measurement, and troubleshooting fuses, relays, and pots
  • Strong ability to read and translate complex schematics
  • Proficiency in digital electronic circuitry, electromechanical devices, and test equipment
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to resolve technical problems effectively in high‑pressure situations
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a passport (or willingness to obtain)
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, or on short notice to meet customer needs
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and work in both temperature‑controlled environments and construction areas
