About Omega Medical Imaging

At Omega Medical Imaging, we are innovators in the field of interventional imaging. As the only company in the world specializing in AI-driven fluoroscopy systems for Cardiology and Gastrointestinal cases, we’re transforming how clinicians perform life‑saving procedures. Our FluoroShield™ technology reduces radiation exposure by up to 84%, enhancing patient safety and improving clinical outcomes.

Position Overview

Omega Medical Imaging is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and support electromechanical systems used in advanced medical imaging equipment. This position will focus on the mechanical design of surgical tables, C-arms, motion systems, structural assemblies, and related components.

The successful candidate will be highly proficient in SolidWorks and comfortable taking designs from concept through detailed design, analysis, release, manufacturing, and production support. This is a hands‑on engineering role requiring close interaction with electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electromechanical mechanisms, structural components, assemblies, and motion systems for surgical tables, C-arms, and related medical imaging equipment.
  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks.
  • Perform or support structural and stress analysis as required to demonstrate adequate strength, stiffness, stability, and safety in accordance with applicable medical-device requirements.
  • Design components and assemblies involving machined parts, sheet metal, weldments, bearings, shafts, linear motion components, actuators, and other mechanical hardware.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly principles throughout the product development process.
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel during the design phase to improve manufacturability, assembly efficiency, serviceability, and product quality.
  • Design or support the development of assembly fixtures, tooling, gauges, and manufacturing aids as required.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering testing, design verification, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk analysis, tolerance analysis, and engineering change activities.
  • Support the formal design release and engineering change process, including drawings, bills of material, specifications, and associated documentation.
  • Create and maintain part numbers, bills of material, and related engineering information within the company's MRP system.
  • Work with suppliers on component selection, manufacturability, tooling, fabrication, and technical issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Excellent proficiency with SolidWorks, including complex parts, assemblies, drawings, configurations, and sheet‑metal or weldment design.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, including:
    • Statics and mechanics of materials
    • Stress and deflection
    • Tolerance analysis and GD&T
    • Fasteners and mechanical joints
    • Machined and fabricated components
    • Bearings, shafts, guides, and linear motion systems
  • Experience performing or interpreting finite element analysis (FEA) or other structural analysis.
  • Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and experience designing products intended for production.
  • Ability to work directly with machinists, assemblers, technicians, and suppliers to resolve practical manufacturing issues.
  • Experience creating production drawings, BOMs, engineering change documentation, and released product documentation.
  • Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a curious engineer who is equally comfortable designing at a workstation and working on the production floor. The right person understands that a successful mechanical design must not only work analytically, but it must also be manufacturable, testable, serviceable, and robust in the real world.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation (based on experience)
  • PTO package and paid holidays
  • 401(k) with Safe Harbor company match
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Medical, dental, vision, disability, & life insurance
  • HSA with employer match contribution
