Job summary

Amazon seeks a Senior Security Engineer to join the Field Innovation team, operating within AWS Security, Search, Observability, and Governance. You will design and ship AI-powered security capabilities, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and correlated detections across cloud, runtime, and AI/ML workloads.

This dual-facing role combines customer-facing field work with partner collaboration to shape service roadmaps and reduce false positives at scale, using modern AI tooling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years in troubleshooting systems issues, log analysis, or automation with CLI tools.
• 5+ years identifying security issues and developing mitigation plans.
• 5+ years scripting, programming, and security code review.
• Experience with at least two languages among Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, Go.
• Experience in identifying vulnerabilities, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Run early-access and gated previews of AI-powered capabilities with customers, including threat modeling and remediation guidance.
• Shape detection coverage and influence service roadmaps from field and partner insights.
• Drive detection engineering best practices, reduce false positives, and measure coverage.
• Stay current with cloud security threats, including AI/ML-related risks.
• Collaborate across science, engineering, partner, and field teams with flexible hours for global customers.
