Job summary

Motorola Solutions seeks a Sr. Field Engineer to design, implement, and support advanced communications systems. This role requires travel exceeding 75% and blends RF engineering with computer networking, demanding clear communication and professional presentation.

Ideal candidates will have strong experience with RF systems, LAN/WAN networks, and multi-site configurations, plus the ability to operate under minimal supervision in high-security environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, or related fields.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance as required by government contracts.
• Willingness to travel extensively (>75%).
• Experience with system design, installation, and troubleshooting in complex networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test communication systems to meet customer specs.
• Perform remote and onsite configuration of network, server, RF, and database components; produce as-configured docs.
• Oversee onsite installation of network, server, and RF equipment with documentation.
• Troubleshoot networks, servers, databases, and RF infrastructure; perform preventative maintenance.
• Execute test plans for acceptance and optimize RF infrastructure with baseline data.
• Develop solutions for complex technical issues using project drawings and customer data.
