Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to lead investigations of field failures and complex issues in V‑BAT platforms. You will work with Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to identify failure modes, implement containment and corrective actions, and drive sustainment improvements across the fleet.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in reliability engineering, and the ability to communicate findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in reliability/maintainability engineering, failure analysis, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading technical investigations for field failures and complex problems.
• Ability to drive RCA from problem statement through containment, corrective actions, and verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering investigations for field failures and complex reliability issues.
• Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations with containment, verification, and closure.
• Analyze field data, logs, hardware, test data, and maintenance records to identify failure modes.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Ops to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Document failure modes, corrective actions, verification plans, and recurrence prevention.
