Job summary

Shield AI seeks an hands-on engineering leader to direct multiple teams spanning electrical design, avionics RCA, and build/test operations. You will own the reliability of the V-BAT avionics, guiding the teams from field observations to durable design improvements.

You will work across design, manufacturing, quality, and fleet support, measured by reliability, performance, and manufacturability of delivered systems.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years leading electrical engineering teams.
• Proven track record building and scaling high-performing technical teams.
• Experience cross-functional across design, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and fleet support.
• Proven ability to plan and execute complex electronic and electrical designs in defense/aerospace.
• Thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership development environments.
• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with fault tree analysis, fishbone diagrams, FMEA/FMECA, 8D or similar.
• Ownership of full product development lifecycles from concept to retirement.
• Experience in UAV/UAS design or autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering practices.

• Set direction and drive execution with a culture of technical excellence.
• Stay technical and contribute to design reviews and root cause analysis.
• Own investigations end-to-end and verify corrective actions.
• Improve system reliability through cross-functional coordination.
• Establish standards, cadences, and metrics for scalable quality.
