Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Inspector to lead field QA activities on a large heavy civil project in Grand Rivers, KY.

The role demands extensive construction QA experience, knowledge of USACE processes, and strict adherence to EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards. The candidate will perform three-phase inspections, submittal reviews, and daily reporting while ensuring contractor compliance with schedules, plans, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 20+ years of construction experience.
• 20+ years in QA on construction projects.
• Experience with Federal Construction projects (USACE preferred).
• Experience with large heavy civil projects; dam/lock projects preferred.
• Enforcement of EM 385-1-1; OSHA requirements.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• Familiarity with inspections, submittal review, quality verification, daily reports.
• Experience with RMS, preferred.
• Knowledge of USACE three-phase inspection system.

Responsibilities

• Perform field construction QA inspections to verify compliance with plans and specs on a large heavy civil project.
• Provide field surveillance and three-phase inspections; deliver daily inspection reports.
• Ensure contractor work aligns with schedules, plans, specs, and safety rules.
• Inspect materials, installation, and testing for contract compliance.
• Review contractor submittals including QA and Safety Plans; ensure OSHA compliance.
• Monitor deficiency tracking and ensure corrective action and audit trails.
• Review daily QC reports for accuracy and deficiencies.
• Perform safety inspections and report observed activities.
• Provide onsite quantity verifications and monitor progress; report to appropriate authority.
• Maintain updated plans and specs; review as-built drawings monthly.
• Track deficiencies, field problems, and RFIs.
• Report daily job activities alongside NAS reviews.
• Conduct preliminary analysis of contractor claims with drawings and chronology.
