Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced field QA inspector for a large heavy civil project with duties including on-site QA inspections, safety compliance and review of contractor submittals. This position requires US citizenship and successful background checks.

The role involves extensive fieldwork, daily reporting, and adherence to EM 385-1-1 and OSHA guidelines, with a focus on maintaining quality and safety across the project site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 20 years in construction industry with QA experience.
• USACE federal construction project experience preferred.
• Experience with large heavy civil projects (dam/lock) preferred.
• Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1; 29 CFR OSHA Construction regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field QA inspections for conformance to plans and specs on a large heavy civil project.
• Provide field surveillance, three-phase inspections, and daily inspection reports.
• Ensure work complies with schedule, plans, specs, safety regs and contract documents.
• Inspect materials, installation, and testing for contract compliance.
• Review contractor submittals including QA and Safety Plans (EM 385-1-1 and OSHA).
• Monitor deficiency tracking and corrective actions with audit trails.
• Review daily QC reports and perform safety inspections.
• Provide onsite quantity verification and progress reporting.
• Maintain updated plans, amendments, and as-built drawings; review with comments monthly.
• Track RFIs, deficiencies, and NAS-related activities.
• Analyze contractor claims and chronology of events.
