Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Austin, TX is seeking a Field Claims Specialist III, Property to support field operations with up to 80% travel. You will resolve complex property claims, determine coverage, and negotiate settlements while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with the Special Investigation Unit.

A strong background in Xactimate, five years of field claims experience, and excellent communication are required; CAT duty and rooftop inspections may be involved.

Qualifications

• 5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience
• Solid experience/proficiency with Xactimate
• Solid experience writing own estimates and handling claims start to finish
• Strong customer service competency
• Strong written & verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with minimal direction and oversight.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies standard methodologies to conclude cases.
• Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to company practices.
• Maintains knowledge of local industry repair procedures and local market pricing.
• Provides leadership to less experienced claims associates and supports training.
