Job summary

National General is seeking an experienced Field Property Adjuster to manage the most complex homeowners claims from intake to disposition. You will estimate damages, determine coverage, negotiate settlements, and mentor junior staff as needed.

This role focuses on high-volume, high-value losses up to $250K and requires collaboration with independent adjusters and cross-functional teams. Residence near Long Island, NY is preferred.

• Experience handling high‑value homeowners claims and complex loss scenarios.
• Ability to estimate damages, determine coverage, and negotiate settlements.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork with independent adjusters and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals to create damages estimates for complex 1st party homeowner losses.
• Builds relationships with internal and external customers.
• Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
• Negotiates settlements, makes payments, and documents activities.
• Applies policy knowledge and supports leadership training and process improvements.
