Job summary

The General Superintendent for IES Communications leads large projects, ensuring safety, quality, and financial performance across all contracted work. The role requires hands-on management, staff oversight, cost control and on-site customer liaison.

Travel is required, and candidates must be proficient in IESOS, daily planning, fiber/cabling standards, and terminations to meet project goals and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Minimum three years as Lead Communications Technician or similar role.
• Minimum five years in telecommunications or related technical field.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must meet company driving standards.
• Ability to define a project, create a scope, estimate and manage tasks.
• Experience with the trade tools listed in project postings.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise staff; handle performance and pay changes.
• Act as senior liaison with customer representatives.
• Plan, monitor and maintain project profitability and deadlines.
• Ensure accuracy of job cost postings, invoices and collections.
• Complete IES and project paperwork on time (timesheets, transfers, work orders, etc).
• Perform quality checks and safety oversight; conduct on-site walks.
• Lead operations meetings and training sessions.
• Manage tools and truck inventory/maintenance.
• Complete any other assigned responsibilities.
