Job summary

Project Talent Partners is seeking a Field Operations Manager for Raleigh, NC to lead self-perform civil projects across grading, earthworks, utilities and drainage. You’ll oversee crews, equipment, and field processes to deliver safe, on-time results.

You’ll work closely with site leadership to optimize resources, manage costs, and drive performance, leveraging deep knowledge of local Triangle markets and strong hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience, with increasing responsibility for self-perform civil construction operations.
• Substantial delivery experience across grading, earthworks, buried utilities, drainage and site preparation.
• A record of leading field teams while managing labour, equipment, production and costs.
• The technical judgement to assess construction methods, work sequences and achievable production rates.
• Detailed knowledge of the Triangle construction market and its local operating conditions.

Responsibilities

• Keep projects moving: Coordinate crews, machinery and trucking across active sites; anticipate resource shortages and adjust plans.
• Build the workforce: Hire experienced field personnel and develop supervisors who lead safe, productive crews.
• Own operational performance: Track output against budgets and forecasts; address underperformance and improve results.
• Get the most from equipment: Direct equipment allocation, fleet utilization and maintenance planning.
• Set standards in the field: Ensure safety, quality and environmental requirements are met and improvements are implemented.
• Connect the operation: Communicate with project management and suppliers to align on execution.
