Job summary

RJS Grading, a Raleigh-based civil contractor, seeks a Construction Project & Operations Manager with strong grading and sitework experience to coordinate daily field operations, manage active projects, and catch cost or schedule issues early. You will work directly with the Owner/President and lead foremen to ensure projects stay on plan.

The role blends field leadership with office planning, reporting, and procurement support.

Qualifications

• Five years of project/field leadership in grading, earthwork, utilities or civil sitework.
• Ability to read civil plans and understand production rates, resources, sequencing and costs.
• Experience supervising grading/sitework crews, coordinating subcontractors, and communicating with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Take assigned jobs from award through closeout and review scope, plans, budgets, contracts, and milestones.
• Build weekly work plans and daily crew, equipment, and trucking assignments; coordinate materials and schedule changes across jobs.
• Lead field work through foremen; inspect sites, verify progress and quality, and resolve routine problems.
• Review production, costs, commitments, and remaining work weekly; update cost to complete and alert on overruns.
• Lead safety planning with field leaders and ensure incident reporting and checks are current.
• Document scope changes, obtain pricing support, and provide updates to customers and timely billing support.
