Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Materials Testing Senior Engineering Technician to perform field testing of construction materials, including soils, concrete, grout/masonry, and asphalt.

You will conduct routine and advanced tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and DOT standards, document observations, and report results using ESP’s data collection software. Candidates should have 3+ years in construction testing and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Associate degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt.
• ACI Field Grade I Certification preferred.
• Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification preferred.
• NICET, DOT, and other applicable certifications will be considered beneficial in the role.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standards
• Perform and document observations of construction
• Review and understand project related drawings and specifications
• Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction team
• Report observations and test results through ESP’s field data collection software
