Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Materials Testing Technician to perform field and laboratory testing, inspection, and observation of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate results to the Project Manager and support data reporting and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include transporting samples, preparing written and digital reports, and ensuring safety and quality standards on every project.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Word & Excel.
• A valid driver\'s license; driving history may be required.
• Preferred certifications: NICET II or ICC/ASNT/AWS certifications in relevant areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor\'s representative and others regarding site requirements and results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with documentation for testing and analysis.
• Prepare data and observations in written and digital reports for daily submittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas; follow safety standards.
