Job summary

Terracon is seeking an experienced field and laboratory testing technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel at project sites. You will communicate with project managers and client representatives, transport samples, and prepare data and reports while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety standards.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma and 3–5 years of relevant experience,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• NICET Level II certification in Construction Materials Testing in Asphalt/Concrete/Soils.
• NICET Level II certification in Geotechnical in Construction/Laboratory/Exploration/Generalist.
• ICC certification in Reinforced Concrete/Structural Steel etc.
• AWS CWI certification.
• ASNT Level II in VT/MT/PT/RT/UT.
• Other national, regional, state, and local Materials related certifications require experience and written examination.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
• May train lower level technicians and lead activities on larger projects.
• Maintains equipment and calibration.
• Follows safety rules and safety requirements for all projects.
