Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Senior Field Support Specialist in the Division of Information Systems to provide expert end-user computing support, installation, configuration, and tier 2 support across software and hardware. You will lead complex issues, mentor junior staff, and help drive upgrades and rollouts that meet business needs.

The role requires a degree (AA/BS) with 2 years of field support experience, strong communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and two years work experience in field support, field service, or technical support.
• Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical personnel.
• Project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as an expert resource to end users by anticipating and identifying educational, procedural, and functional problems associated with new or revised applications and patches.
• Collaborates with end users to define requirements for new systems and evaluates and recommends solutions.
• Performs complex problem diagnosis, support, and maintenance for applications, software, hardware and connectivity issues; escalates when needed.
• Assists management in training field support staff to handle complex issues and maintain quality standards.
• Projects long-range requirements for end user computing environments and keeps documentation current.
