Job summary

American Management Group, LLC (AMG) is seeking a technically skilled Installation Engineer to support the VA’s EHR deployment and training. You will oversee onsite technicians, coordinate equipment setup at training sites, verify VA images are current, and ensure systems are ready for security scans.

The role requires frequent travel (up to 50%), strong customer service, and solid hardware/network experience, including AD configuration, Wi‑Fi management, imaging, and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with designing, analyzing, configuring, or troubleshooting IP networks.
• Experience in managing technical teams.
• Experience with Wi‑Fi hardware configuration, management, and issue resolution.
• Experience with network hardware installation, configuration, management, and issue resolution.
• Experience with hardware and software support, troubleshooting, imaging, break/fix, and deployment projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience writing reports and deliverables.
• Familiar with network technologies, analyzing traffic, and determining issues.
• Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Must have personal transportation available during work hours.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information System, Information Technology, or Equivalent and 10 total years of experience; or 18 total years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of onsite technicians supporting VA EHRM deployment and training.
• Set up equipment at training sites and verify VA images are current.
• Configure network connectivity and Active Directory for training use.
• Manage baseband network connectivity and Wi‑Fi configuration.
• Handle hardware start-up, imaging, configuration, updates, naming, break/fix, and issue resolution.
• Manage inventory and network connectivity at training sites to ensure connectivity during sessions.
• Provide on-site support during installations and ongoing issue resolution.
