Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a Construction Inspector TT-4 in Raleigh, NC to manage daily construction administration and site inspection on NCDOT projects. The role requires strong field observation, reporting, and coordination across crews.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with relevant experience, plus solid math, plans interpretation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with 5 years of field/transportation inspection experience, or a high school diploma with 7 years of related experience.
• Experience inspecting roadway/bridge construction and monitoring contractor conformance to plans and specs.
• Ability to coordinate inspection duties across multiple crews and produce daily inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation of Contractor operations for conformance to contract documents.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports of work completed by Contractor.
• Conduct materials testing and maintain testing logs.
• Prepare sketches and data for Engineers to modify plans.
• Maintain diaries and reports on work performed or deficiencies.
• Perform mathematical calculations as required.
