Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a NCDOT CEI Transportation Technician III (TT-3) to join our CEI team in North Carolina. The Inspector will manage daily construction administration and inspection for NCDOT/local projects.

Requirements include an associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with 3 years of related experience; a valid driver's license and strong plan-reading skills are essential. OSHA and related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with 3 years of related experience; HS diploma with 5 years is acceptable.
• Inspection experience on roadway/bridge construction and related pavement rehab projects.
• Experience coordinating inspection duties across multiple crews.
• Experience tracking quantities, daily reports, monthly estimates and as-built drawings.
• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Excellent reading of plans and specifications; strong writing and documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills (Word and Excel) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractor.
• Perform materials testing and maintain testing logs.
• Prepare sketches and data for engineers to modify projects.
• Keep diaries and report deficiencies; perform complex calculations.
