Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team is seeking a candidate to inspect and monitor construction activities at the project site(s). Inspector must perform the most complex inspection activities for at least 2 of 5 categories: roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion & control, maintenance & traffic.

Work under supervision with knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in highway construction. Primary responsibilities include evaluating conformity to plans, reviewing drawings, and documenting results.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, or concrete if required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience; equivalent related experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and construction conform to plans and specs.
• Use equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Review drawings and prepare for inspections; document results and communicate to supervisor.
• Understand construction design and explain plans, provisions and specs.
