Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an on-site Field Technician for HVAC controls in the Waco, TX area. You will commission, program, and test control systems at customer locations, document verification processes, and ensure customer satisfaction through proactive service and timely issue resolution.

The role requires 5+ years in HVAC controls, Niagara experience preferred, and a valid driver's license. Travel, safety emphasis, and strong collaboration with customers are essential to success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in HVAC controls, including commissioning and programming; Niagara experience preferred.
• Experience with DDC controls systems is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone/tablet).
• Valid driver’s license for minimum 12 months with clean record (no major infractions in 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Commission, program, set up graphics, communications link, end-to-end testing, troubleshooting and service on assigned projects.
• Document point-to-point verification, sequence of operations validation and close-out requirements.
• Serve as direct customer contact; service products and equipment on-site, ensure customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand requirements and forecast issues; gather materials.
• Stay current on Trane products for installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of direct digital control systems.
• Enforce safety standards and maintain asset security; record usage and wear.
• Demonstrate teamwork with flexibility for overtime and occasional overnight stays.
