Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. seeks an experienced technician to perform thorough mechanical repairs and maintenance on rental equipment, primarily at customer job sites, with occasional shop work.

The role requires diagnosing malfunctions, repairing and reconditioning equipment, and delivering clear inspection reports. Candidates should have 5+ years in a technician role, a valid driver’s license, and ideally a vocational certificate or Class B CDL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of work-related technician experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Preferred: vocational/technical certificate.
• Preferred: Class B CDL.
• Preferred: 7+ years with heavy equipment (rental company or Caterpillar) and hydraulics/powertrain/electrical knowledge.
• Must have the required shop hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions at job sites.
• Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment to meet company standards.
• Prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
• Fully understand operation and controls of rental equipment.
• Complete all repair documents accurately and timely.
• Follow directions from manager and lead mechanic for repairs and service calls.
• Maintain safety rules and keep the work area clean.
