Job summary

North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician III for the Union County, Monroe area. The role entails senior inspection of roadways and structures, contract administration, and ensuring compliance with plans and permits. Must lift 50lb, work nights/weekends as needed, and use office software on tablets.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience, with HiCAMS/SharePoint experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field with progressive technician experience.
• Ability to analyze highway construction plans and resolve constructability issues.
• Experience using computer software for documentation, reporting, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor activities and enforce specifications and contract provisions.
• Maintain daily diary, review pay records, and verify monthly quantities.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians and coordinate with stakeholders.
