Job summary

Indigo Telecom Group is seeking an experienced L2 Field Engineer to support deployment, commissioning, maintenance and optimisation of critical telecoms and network infrastructure. This is a hands‑on role for a technically skilled engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, leading field activities and mentoring colleagues while delivering exceptional service to customers.

Qualifications

Extensive experience installing, commissioning and maintaining telecoms infrastructure and network services.
Strong knowledge of optical transmission systems, structured cabling, IP networking, WAN/LAN and VoIP technologies.
Hands-on experience with equipment from vendors such as Ciena, Infinera, Nokia, Juniper and Cisco.

Responsibilities

Deliver installation, commissioning and maintenance services across telecoms and network infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve complex faults across optical, transmission and IP networking environments.
Lead field-based deployment activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to quality standards.
Support customer SLAs through proactive fault management and rapid issue resolution.
Supervise installation teams and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Conduct fibre and copper cabling installations, testing and certification.
Perform network commissioning and fault diagnosis using OTDR, Ethernet and optical testing tools.
Produce accurate technical documentation, reports and project records.
Act as a technical escalation point and lead engineer on assigned projects.
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, quality and engineering standards.
