Job summary
Entegro is seeking experienced Field Technicians to support a large-scale optical network migration programme in the United States. You will provide on-site support during migration activities, assisting with installation, cabling, testing and commissioning to ensure seamless service migrations.
The role demands prior experience in live telecommunications environments, ability to work with remote engineering teams, and willingness to travel to site locations as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience working within telecommunications or optical transport networks.
- Experience working in live network environments.
- Ability to interpret rack layouts, cable schedules and implementation plans.
- Experience handling and testing fibre optic cabling.
- Familiarity with optical power meters, VFLs and fibre cleaning procedures.
- Strong health and safety awareness.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible maintenance windows
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support during planned migration activities.
- Assist remote engineers during implementation and service cutovers.
- Carry out pre- and post-migration physical inspections.
- Support equipment replacement and hardware swaps where required.
- Verify equipment status, alarms and LED indications.
- Record test results and provide implementation updates.
