Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Field Engineer to provide technical, logistical, and administrative support to the NED Assistant Division Engineers in the Sub-Division. The role involves working in both office and field settings, including night operations, and requires collaboration with gang supervisors and Transportation Management to ensure efficient infrastructure construction, maintenance, and inspection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
• Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of basic electrical theory.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematic diagram.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate night work activities within IMCS, ensuring adherence to outage requirements for maintaining OTP.
• Provide 24/7 support for planned work and emergencies.
• Monitor field activities to enforce safety protocols, driving safety culture improvement and preventing injuries.
• Ensure regulatory inspections' timely and high-quality performance through field oversight.
• Assist supervisors with injury support, including transportation and documentation.
