Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with a strategic customer’s engineering team in the San Francisco area. You will write production code, shape technical architecture, and influence Cloudflare product usage at scale.

You will own the account’s technical success, drive production-grade delivery, and maintain an on-site presence to foster deep collaboration with customer and Cloudflare teams.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years delivering production-grade systems.
• Ownership of mission-critical services and on-call readiness.
• Current hands-on development in a fast-paced IDE environment.
• Broad fluency across frontend, backend, databases, and infra.
• Experience integrating AI-augmented workflows into daily work.
• Ability to decompose requirements into scalable architectures.
• Deep experience with major cloud providers and security basics.
• Self-starter who drives outcomes with minimal direction.
• Comfort with executive-level technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Embed with a strategic customer, writing production code and shaping architecture.
• Own the technical success across the customer’s Cloudflare portfolio.
• Collaborate with customer teams and Cloudflare engineers on validation and delivery.
• Work on production systems and deploy configurations to customer infra.
• Participate in customer rituals and incident response as an on-site partner.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate Cloudflare adoption across the stack.
• Provide feedback to influence product and engineering roadmaps.
• Build trusted relationships with senior engineering leadership.
