Job summary

Cloudflare’s Senior Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) operate at the intersection of product engineering and customer impact. You will be embedded within a strategic global customer’s engineering team, writing production code and shaping technical architecture at scale.

You will act as a technical extension of both organizations, helping the customer ship faster while surfacing product insights back to Cloudflare engineering.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Languages: TypeScript, Rust, Golang.
• Production ownership with on-call and incident response.
• Ship-first mentality with high velocity and current tooling.
• Full-stack architectural depth across frontend to distributed infra.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Able to translate engineering trade-offs to business impact.

Responsibilities

• Stay deeply technical and work on real production systems.
• Embed as a dedicated technical partner within a strategic customer’s engineering org.
• Design, build, and deploy production-ready code to customer infra.
• Own the account’s technical success and guide Cloudflare resources.
• Participate in customer engineering rituals and incident response.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate platform adoption across the customer stack.
• Surface real-world edge cases to influence product and roadmap.
• Establish and maintain trusted technical relationships with senior leadership.
