Job summary

Cubic Transportation Systems is seeking a Field Services Technician 3 to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment at field locations, supporting reliable system operation.

You will diagnose issues, interpret schematics, perform system checks, and collaborate with engineering and customer agencies. The role requires travel, strong problem-solving, and compliance with safety policies, including DOT testing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in electronic equipment maintenance and repair.
• Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred or equivalent training.
• Proficiency in basic computer operations and common software applications.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently in the field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in challenging environments.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Safety-sensitive position with pre-employment and random DOT testing.

Responsibilities

• Install, initiate operation, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment at field locations.
• Diagnose, rework, repair, and maintain equipment using tools, test equipment, schematics, and manuals.
• Interpret schematics, drawings, and manuals to support diagnostics and maintenance.
• Perform system checks to ensure device readiness and operation.
• Coordinate or supervise field installations and maintenance activities.
• Mentor less experienced field technicians and support problem resolution.
• Maintain records and coordinate with engineering for process improvements.
