Job summary

Oxy is seeking an Operational Electrical Engineer to support field electrical infrastructure, including start-up, troubleshooting, maintenance and project support for substations and power systems. This role emphasizes hands-on field work and collaboration across design and commissioning teams.

The position offers extensive field exposure, requires travel, and includes a company car for daily field work and commutes. A B.E. in Electrical Engineering with strong field experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in electrical systems.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical engineering.
• At least 5 years of direct field experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive electrical engineering support for power distribution equipment across high, medium, and low voltage systems.
• Collaborate in design for projects, performing load flow, short circuit, and relay coordination studies.
• Develop and validate protective relay programs and oversee relay testing.
• Offer expertise on solid state power devices, VFDs, soft starts, and large motors.
• Conduct system modeling to optimize efficiency and review test outcomes for cables, motors, and transformers.
• Manage factory acceptance testing and start-up procedures for projects of varying scale.
