Job summary

Terawatt Infrastructure is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer with strong working knowledge of primary and secondary electrical systems to lead construction, commissioning, energization, and ongoing operation of EV charging sites across North America.

You will evaluate field inspections against design intent, resolve discrepancies, and make real-time technical decisions with contractors, utility engineers, and AHJs, escalating high‑stakes calls to senior engineers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of field experience with electrical construction, commissioning, or startup of MV/LV systems.
• Ability to travel 60%+ to active sites.
• Ability to read/verify SLDs and diagrams.
• Familiarity with NEC/UL/IEEE codes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate field conditions against SLDs/diagrams and determine acceptable deviations or design changes.
• Serve as field representative during FAT and OFE testing.
• Assess energization readiness and make go/no-go engineering calls.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues on active sites with Field Service.
• Ensure handoffs, maintenance schedules, and warranties are ready for operation.
• Interpret NEC/UL/IEEE codes in field reviews.
• Manage field activity across multiple sites.
