Job summary

Terawatt Infrastructure seeks a Field Electrical Engineer to lead construction, commissioning, energization, and ongoing operation of EV charging sites across North America. You will work from limited information and adapt approaches with review from senior engineering leadership at key milestones.

Responsibilities include evaluating field inspections, resolving discrepancies with contractors/AHJs, and making real-time technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of field electrical experience in construction or startup.
• Experience with 480V switchgear and distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of NEC/UL/IEEE and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate field conditions against diagrams and approve deviations or changes.
• Serve as owner's field rep during FAT and OFE testing; assess results.
• Assess energization readiness and make go/no-go calls with utilities and AHJs.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical/hardware issues on active sites.
• Analyze deviations and determine need for design revision vs. documentation.
• Ensure handoff to operations with docs, maintenance schedules, and warranties.
• Interpret NEC/UL/IEEE and local code requirements during field reviews.
• Manage field activity across multiple sites with competing schedules.
• Report progress, issues, and risks to management.
