Job summary

Orion Hidden Careers seeks an experienced field supervisor to lead concrete construction projects in Texas. You will guide crews, determine methods and materials, and maintain schedules while upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include mentoring foremen, coordinating with GC/subcontractors, tracking costs, and supporting business development efforts. Expect long hours and variable shifts as required by production needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience on concrete construction projects in increasingly responsible field supervisory capacity.
• Strong plan-reading and interpretation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and communicate with varied stakeholders.
• Understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Leadership, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Understanding of structural and civil plans.
• Time management and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to hold crews accountable for safe work practices and performance.
• Ability to influence and motivate work crews.
• Foresight to avoid potential problems before they arise.
• Ability to perform in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Conscientious attitude towards controlling job costs and adhering to project schedules.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver License with a reasonably clean Driving Record.

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership for field construction activities.
• Determine construction methods, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment needs.
• Train and develop foremen and mentor crew.
• Manage day-to-day construction operations through assigned personnel.
• Create and maintain project schedules; forecast risk; identify delays early.
• Coordinate site logistics with GC, subcontractors, and PM.
• Ensure safety program compliance and implement corrective measures.
• Assist Safety Department with incident investigations.
• Inspect work for adherence to drawings, specs, and quality standards.
• Assist Project Manager with cost/schedule forecasts, pay requests, and change orders.
• Execute project closeout, punch list, and turnover.
• Participate in business development/estimating activities within expertise.
• Oversee large, complex projects or multiple crews.
• Develop PEPs and mentor foremen.
• Manage staffing and field coordination independently.
• Communicate site problems and schedule/quality issues to PM and GC.
• Monitor equipment needs, utilization, and maintenance; ensure subcontractors meet schedules and quality.
