Job summary

MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck) is seeking a qualified inspector to guide construction quality on complex infrastructure projects. You will perform on-site QA observations, coordinate with contractors and clients, and manage recordkeeping, compliance verification, and reporting.

• Independently implement quality control procedures and interpret plans.
• Experience inspecting construction activities with increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site field compliance inspections and monitor progress for conformance to specifications and codes.
• Conduct field checks of red-line as-built plans to confirm completeness.
• Develop payment applications and track submittals and RFIs.
• Advise contractors regarding discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Perform materials testing and basic surveying to verify line and grade.
• Document construction activities in diaries, inspection reports, and logs with calculations.
• Prepare punchlists, oversee final inspections, and facilitate item completion.
• Prepare and review construction reports and monthly estimates; make corrections as needed.
• Monitor budgets and schedules; assist in contractor evaluations.
• Maintain project correspondence and administrative duties (timesheets, mileage, expenses).
• Inspect signing projects and research inspection methods in advance.
• Support marketing through shortlist interviews.
• Provide guidance and feedback to Inspector I, trainees, and interns.
