Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a Field Claims Representative to work in the Oakland area with a focus on property claims across an assigned territory. The role involves field investigations, evaluating coverage and losses, and coordinating with agents and insureds to resolve claims efficiently.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least 3 years in multi-line P&C claims (preferably field claims), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims.
• A minimum of 3 years handling multi-line property and casualty claims with emphasis on property claims.
• Field claims handling experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Xactimate is preferred.
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss.
• Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in an assigned territory.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
• Ensure claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
• Handle investigations by phone, mail and on-site investigations.
