Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance seeks a motivated field claims professional to manage the lifecycle of claims, from investigation to resolution, in the Akron area. After training, you may have work-from-home flexibility as allowed by leadership.

Responsibilities include investigating and evaluating coverage, handling multi-line property claims, and pursuing timely payments, with in-person training and field-site work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims
• Minimum 3 years handling multi-line property and casualty claims with emphasis on property claims
• Field claims handling experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of Xactimate software preferred but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to analyze data and resolve complex issues
• Ability to manage multiple assignments
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive to claim sites

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage and evaluate loss
• Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in assigned territory
• Become familiar with insurance coverage by studying policies and endorsements
• Work toward claim resolution, including arbitrations, mediations or trials as needed
• Ensure timely and accurate claim payments
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail and on-site as required
