6 Degrees Search seeks a Lead Field Automation Specialist in the Johnson Creek, WI area for on-site and field operations. The role focuses on PLC programming, electro-mechanical maintenance, and integration of automation systems with an emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will design and program controls, troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems, and mentor technicians while maintaining a strong customer focus in a high-autonomy environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years electro-mechanical maintenance depth in industrial settings.
• 2+ years multi-platform PLC/HMI programming experience.
• Electrical and controls mastery including wiring, schematics, and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead field maintenance, commissioning, and service across Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.
• Design and program control systems on multiple PLC/HMI platforms.
• Diagnose electro-mechanical issues and service fluid power and mechanical systems.
• Install, commission, and retrofit automation equipment and safety systems.
• Provide on-site technical support and rapid issue resolution.
