Job summary

Cotswold Archaeology is seeking Experienced Archaeologists to join field teams around our offices and on protracted away projects with accommodation provided. Salary is stated as annual equivalents and includes a range of benefits.

The role focuses on archaeological field investigations, data recording, and mentoring, with opportunities for training and professional development within CA’s health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of archaeological practice.
• Proven ability in field archaeology and commercial teams.
• Willingness to undertake away work including extended away periods.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to fieldwork projects: fieldwalking, evaluation, excavation, finds processing and archiving.
• Record investigation data using pro-forma sheets, drawings and photos.
• Recover artefacts and environmental samples per CA procedures.
• Undertake machine supervision and surveying duties as delegated.
• Mentor and train less experienced staff.
• Maintain safety and quality in line with CA policies.
