Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Technical Applications Manager to lead hands-on engineering work in industrial gas detection, automation, and control systems.

You will design solutions, troubleshoot in the field, and support customers through the entire project lifecycle. The role emphasizes collaboration with sales, engineering, and field service, including on-site commissioning, training, and continuous product improvements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applications engineering, controls or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with installations, startup, commissioning and field support.
• Experience programming/troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and/or IDEC PLCs and HMIs.
• Knowledge of Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP.
• Understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation.
• Ability to work on-site at customer facilities and travel as needed.
• Excellent communication and leadership for customer training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource for gas detection, automation, monitoring and control systems.
• Lead system design including control architecture and integration.
• Configure, program, troubleshoot PLCs/HMIs and networks.
• Manage technical projects from concept to commissioning.
• Provide on-site commissioning, startup support and troubleshooting.
• Develop technical proposals, system documentation and manuals.
• Mentor and guide application engineers and teams.
• Drive improvements in product quality and reliability.
