Job summary

Novartis Group Companies is seeking an Associate Director, Access & Reimbursement (ADAR) for a field-based role in the Thousand Oaks, CA geography, with remote work options and extensive travel. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; business and/or biological science education preferred.
• 5+ years in pharmaceuticals/biotech with focus on Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or account management, incl. 2+ years in Patient Services for a specialty product.
• Experience with highly complex practices/health systems to establish access and acquisition pathways.
• Strategic account management to anticipate access hurdles affecting accounts.
• Deep expertise in integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
• Experience with specialty products via Specialty Pharmacy networks.
• Knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty, buy‑and‑bill, retail).
• Candidate must reside within territory and be able to travel 60–80% with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Interact with large, complex accounts to support patient access and provide education on programs to providers and staff.
• Collaborate with executives, providers, administrators, billing and coding staff, and revenue cycle managers to support patient access.
• Analyze reimbursement issues and provide solutions for third‑party payer situations at the provider level.
• Support local coverage decisions and communicate policy changes impacting other departments.
• Maintain expertise in regional access landscape and act as reimbursement expert for the product area.
• Interface with hub and Access & Reimbursement Managers on patient case management and education.
• Collaborate with NPC cross‑functional teams to share insights on customer needs and barriers.
