Job summary

Ziply Fiber is expanding its fiber network and seeking a Senior Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer based in Reno, NV. You will lead OSP project execution, validation of designs, and budget/schedule adherence while coordinating with multiple teams.

The role requires field travel, strong knowledge of design and permitting processes, and the ability to drive projects to completion within budget and timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of telecommunications outside plant project management or fiber design.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in ROW, easement and permitting with local, state, and federal entities.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Proactively review outside plant facilities to determine upgrades.
• Prepare and review HLD and LLD; estimate project needs.
• Coordinate with peers and departments for project planning and preconstruction.
• Manage permitting lifecycle with state, county, city and national entities; coordinate with utilities for joint trench.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to internal staff and vendors; support cross‑functional teams.
• Be available to work Pacific Time, including evenings and weekends as needed.
