Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Fiber Optics Manufacturing Engineer to develop, scale, and improve manufacturing processes for fiber optic cables and assemblies. You will work with Fiber Optic Specialists, production technicians, design engineering, quality, and supply chain to transition products from development into repeatable production at Devens, MA and Somerville, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with fiber optic/cable assembly processes.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, RCCA, DOE, SPC.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; teamwork and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve fiber optic manufacturing processes.
• Transition products from R&D to repeatable production.
• Develop processes for handling, routing, splicing, termination.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and process controls for production.
• Lead continuous improvement and RCCA projects.
