Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking an Assembly Operator V in Fairview, NC to work with fiber optic cables and connectors. You will assemble, terminate, and test cable assemblies, set up test stations, and support NPI activities with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of manufacturing experience (2+ years in fiber optics), strong hand-eye coordination, ability to read blueprints, operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes and DMMs, and a disciplined approach

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience, including 2+ years in fiber optic assembly manufacturing.
• Proficient in using hand tools, calipers, and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Polish and test fiber optic cables
• Assemble and package fiber optic connector components
• Operate fiber router and complete over-molding process (as needed)
• Support prototype product builds, test product builds, pre-release NPI builds (as needed)
• Measure components using calipers, gauges, or other measuring devices
• Complete necessary operational paperwork to maintain traceability
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment
• Understand cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly
• Terminate various standard fiber optic termini and new termini designs
• Perform EFG & IPC checks on single & multi-fiber termini
