Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Senior Fiber Construction Technician in Bend, OR to oversee the construction and maintenance of PON/fiber networks. You will operate trenchers, backhoes, and plows, manage project resources, and ensure safety protocols across the crew.

You will read plans, coordinate with municipalities and contractors, and maintain project documentation while keeping the project on schedule and within budget. Night and weekend work may be required, and a CDL is preferred or trainable.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction equipment operation using trenchers, backhoes, plows, or bucket trucks.
• 1+ years of experience leading individuals or teams through mentorship or project management.
• Must follow attendance guidelines to meet business needs.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and remain eligible for DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate trenchers, backhoes, end loaders, plows, and other equipment to construct and maintain outside plant fiber facilities.
• Read construction plans and permits; coordinate with team and subcontractors to meet deadlines.
• Track costs, material transfers, and project documentation; ensure safety protocols across the crew.
• Communicate updates to the project team and manage daily/weekly work based on constraints.
• Ensure equipment inspections are performed and that DOT requirements are met.
