Job summary

Fervo Energy Company seeks a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to own physical-layer design and records for OSP/ISP fiber and copper cabling. You will lead the fiber records program, manage route drawings, splice plans, and testing, and coordinate with IT, OT/I&C, sensing, and construction teams across multiple sites.

The role emphasizes contractor oversight, change control, and ensuring documentation integrity; travel ~30% with field presence during construction.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of relevant telecommunications infrastructure experience.
• Demonstrated experience building or running a fiber records program using a fiber management system or GIS as the authoritative record.
• Experience designing pathways, telecommunications spaces, racks, cabinets, and passive connectivity using GIS and CAD tools.
• Ability to interpret OTDR traces, optical loss measurements, and copper cabling certification reports.
• Experience developing bid packages, managing contractors, resolving field discrepancies, and enforcing documentation and closeout requirements.
• Demonstrated self-sufficiency, sound technical judgment, clear documentation, and ability to prioritize multiple sites and elevate risks with actionable recommendations.
• Degree in engineering, telecommunications, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the authoritative fiber management system and GIS records and ensure accurate strand allocation and routing.
• Build and maintain infrastructure records program and establish a verified baseline with stakeholders.
• Direct contractors through detailed design, construction, and closeout, ensuring acceptance criteria are met.
• Review field changes and submittals; coordinate access, sequencing, and service impacts with teams.
• Maintain compliance with audits and IT/OT/I&C governance and record updates.
